Journalist must believe that the basic purpose of journalism is to provide people with the information they need to be empowered and Self-governing.

Journalist must be obliged to the truth and loyal to the citizens and the Nation.

Journalist must maintain independence from any kind of bias – be it individual or circumstantial.

Journalist must serve as an independent monitor of society, administration and power.

Journalist must not impose his/ her own opinion on the News and People.

Journalist must respect accuracy and keep the news comprehensive.

Journalist must exercise his/ her personal conscience while reporting and presenting the news.

HNF Principles of News Production & Reporting

1. Accuracy

The information should confirm the reality and not in any way be misleading or false. Information must be thoroughly crosschecked and presented in the news with a disciplined use of Visuals, Language and Production Techniques.

2. Integrity

The information must be truthful, and not distorted to justify a conclusion based upon any kind of affiliation or personal bias.

3. Fairness

News must report relevant facts, information and significant points of view and deal fairly and ethically with persons, institutions, issues and events.
