Even though, during 2009 elections, Chandan Mitra directly targeted Pyari Mohan Mohapatra for taking a role in breaking the twelve years old BJP-BJD coalition, the recent statement seemed to be a tricky draft as it remained silent about the departed BJD leader. Instead, Mitra said that ‘nothing can be predicted in politics’. It indicates that state BJP would greet the betrayer of 2009 elections as a friend in the forthcoming general elections of 2014.

In a meeting attended by senior BJP leaders like Chandan Mitra and Arun Singh, Odisha BJP has resolved to contest the forthcoming state assembly and Lok Sabha Election in a spirit of now or never. The Meeting also resolved to convert BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s public rally into a resounding success. Pointing out that the Modi wave was building up across India, delegates urged the party worker to work spiritedly to dislodge the rampantly corrupt and inefficient government of Neveen Patnaik in the State and Manmohan Singh scam tainted regime in Delhi.

Central leaders appealed other party leaders to work dedicatedly for a Congress Mukt Bharat (Congress free India) and a Naveen Mukt Odisha (Naveen free Odisha). Party’s State President K V Singhdeo assured the Central leaders that the party would raise as one and expose the massive scams and loots of the state’s resources by the corrupt Naveen Patnaik Government.

The leaked contents of the Justice M.B. Shah’s panel report on the mining scam has established that the state’s allowed rampant illegal mining and patronized the smuggling of precious iron ore and other minerals by the mining mafia for export. Unlike the then BJP government in Karnataka and BJP government of Manohar Parrikar in Goa, exports were not banned in Odisha. Instead mining firms connected to Odisha’s ruling establishment were given special favors and under the Naveen Patnaik’s government patronage and supervision this friendly firms were encourages of pilfer the States irreplaceable natural resources.

We believe the people of Odisha who have been hoodwinked by the superficial simplicity of the non Odia speaking CM all these years are no longer prepared to be fooled. They wanted revenge for their money and resources being looted under one scam after another such as the Dal scandal, Chit fund scam and the gigantic mining scam. In this large scale corruption, Naveen Patnaik found an able comrade on PM Manmohan Singh and his employer Sonia Gandhi. Which is why the congress in Odisha only fakes opposition to the BJD while the central leadership of the party blesses the Odisha CM and  never attached his corrupt record. The congress also never questioned the applying poverty levels of Odisha nor the Patnaik’s regime pathetic record of non development after so many years in power. After realizing that Naveen Patnaik is facing severe anti incumbent this time, Congress is trying to wriggle out of the taint of being “His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition” at this late stage.

“As long as the BJP was in coalition with the BJD, none of the scams took place. BJP Ministers implemented a series of people oriented programmes to benefit the rural poor. Our leaders were however kept in the dark about Naveen Patnaik nefarious activities regarding the mining scam,” said the leaders.

Even though, during 2009 elections, Mitra directly targeted Pyari Mohan Mohapatra for taking a role in breaking the twelve years old BJP-BJD coalition, the recent statement seemed to be a tricky draft as it remained silent about the departed BJD leader. Instead, Mitra said that ‘nothing can be predicted in politics’. It indicates that state BJP would greet the betrayer of 2009 elections as a friend in the forthcoming general elections of 2014.
