In its memorandum submitted to the President of India, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) approached the highest office to intervene in the matter and redress the growing anguish among the Hindus for such kind of utterances by a person occupying a high office as the Home Minister of India saying that Home Minister must take action and correct it in case there was something wrong with anybody.

Members and leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, on January 22, 2012, demonstrated at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and burnt effigy of the union Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde condemning his mention of Hindu Terror in a statement.

The protestors also submitted a memorandum with the president of Bharat (the other name India is called since ancient days) to sack him for violating his constitutional duties.

By terming Hindus and Saffron as terrorists, he has not only hurt Hindu sentiments and put a blame on our sant samaj (Hindu sages), but also directly helped cross border terrorists who have also endorsed his statement, said Secretary General VHP, Delhi, Satyendra Mohan while addressing the protestors.

“In case he has evidences, he has the power to act rather then misguiding the people,” said Satyendra Mohan while giving an open call to the Union Home Minister.

Detailing about the Memorandum submitted to the president of Bharat, Vinod Bansal, the media chief of VHP, Delhi, said that “we have sought immediate intervention of the President in the matter and sacking of the Union home minister for not discharging his constitutional duties. We have mentioned that this statement of Mr Shinde has also dented the image of our country and is being misused by country’s enemies like-LeT. This kind of immature behaviour of Home Minister will weaken our war against terror.”

In its memorandum, VHP appealed the President saying that "We therefore approach your good office to intervene in the matter and redress the growing anguish among the Hindus for such kind of utterances by a person occupying a high office as the Home Minister of our country. In case he finds something wrong in the country, he must take action and correct it rather than blaming anybody". The memorandum also added that "This type of serious proclamation by the constitutional authority, i.e. Home Minister, will surely influences Judiciary and the investigating agencies thereby depriving arrested Hindus a free and fair trial as promised by the Constitution of Bharat (India). This may also put all Hindus in danger of getting implicated in any such cases.”

However, the particular rally in New Delhi did not take a strong stand against the forthcoming cricket matches to be held in India with the women’s cricket team of Pakistan being a visiting team. Surely, an event of some relief to India’s apex cricket board BCCI and the cricket supporters.
